In 1975, the year before the United States began its Bicentennial Celebration in 1976, artist Alexander Calder was commissioned to design a color scheme that represented the Spirit of America that would be painted on a Braniff 727-291. Four designs were painted on 1/25 scale Westway Boeing 727-200 models and the design that was chosen is this striking livery. Eight glorious and shimmering colors are printed on the front of this high-altitude 100% cotton heavyweight Turquoise shirt.
